Centralization of flower clocks at Aalsmeer is running

AALSMEER (26 November 2010) - The quite complicated process of centralizing the cut flowers clocks at Aalsmeer was successfully completed as scheduled on 15 November.

This program makes the clock purchasing of flowers more efficient for buyers and is aiming at operation costs efficiency as already explained before in full detail.
From now on buyers can simultaneously participate in the auctioning process of all the cut flowers clocks at Aalsmeer from a single buyer-seat on the tribunes E/F as the aged tribunes and equipment at auction room A/B went out of service.

The original clocks at tribunes E/F and clock 8 at tribune B run already a long time for virtual auctioning (where flowers are not actually presented at the clock-front) only and are no longer visible at the tribunes, but only on the buyers’ monitors. The auctioneers at these virtual clocks are operating now from a back-office. The former clocks from tribunes A/B are now operating at tribunes E/F using the latest modern equipment with no changes in the way of operating and in the auctioning order of the former A/B clocks.

Video wall

For suppliers who want to watch the auction process a video wall has been installed at the presentation room, where all 10 auction clocks can be watched.

More details of this operation in Aalsmeer can be read in the Newsletter no. 12 of 1 November 2010.
