NAALDWIJK (21 december 2010) - FloraHolland Naaldwijk has decided to image auction Rose (clock 3) and Orchid (clock 5) permanently. After consultation with, and a positive recommendation by, the Rose (clock 3) sounding-board and the Orchid (clock 5) sounding-board, Rose image auctioning will start on Monday 10 January 2011, while Orchid image auctioning will start on Monday 17 January 2011. According to the sounding-boards, the preconditions have been met to start image auctioning. As a starting-point, at least 70% of all lots have a representative grower’s photo, while the average BI is higher than 95%.
Suppliers whose individual BI is less than 95%, and/or for whom no grower’s photo is present, have until 1 July 2011 to meet the requirements.
In order to further improve the reliability of supplier information, the principle of 'failed inspection' will be implemented. This means that parties that have been corrected by the Quality Service regarding grading code S1 and S2, and/or where a color code is written in the auction groups 'Rose reclassified’, are to be placed at clock 8 or ‘Orchid reclassified’.
With the launch of image auctioning, changes to the auction schedule will be implemented. These can be found at www.myfloraholland.com.
