Image auctioning Aster, Bouvardia, Celosia and Euphorbia

FLORAHOLLAND (17 September 2010) - As of Thursday 16 September 2010, sales at Aalsmeer of Aster, Bouvardia, Celosia (Cockscomb) and Euphorbia will be on basis of information (image auctioning). This will be on a voluntary basis, with a number of fixed terms and conditions. Once a supplier chooses to offer his/her products through image auctioning, they will be given preference in the auction times and their trolleys will no longer be placed in front of the auction clock. The grower/supplier must provide digital images to use with the ‘image supported auctioning’.

In recent months, FloraHolland has been discussing with suppliers’ and buyers’ representatives the conditions that would have to be met in order to make image auctioning a success in these auction groups. The relevant growers have received personal letters with the details involved, and guidelines for taking photographs.
