FloraHolland investigates participation in import handling company BSZ

Aalsmeer (20 September 2010) – FloraHolland intends to participate with a minority share in the import handling company BSZ. To this end, BSZ (Bouwman Snijder Zandvoort Holding BV) and FloraHolland have signed a letter of intent. BSZ is specialized in preparing cut flowers from international growers.

The objective of the collaboration between BSZ and FloraHolland is to strengthen the position of growers in the international supply chain. By joining forces with BSZ, FloraHolland will realize increased efficiency and synergy at its existing import handling departments in Aalsmeer and its other marketplaces. As part of these developments, FloraHolland’s TFA Import Handling will move to a new location next to BSZ in Aalsmeer where the organisation will continue her present activities as a department of FloraHolland.

BSZ will continue to operate as an independent company and will retain its current director. By taking this step, the company is guaranteeing its continuity and development over the long term.

This collaboration between BSZ and FloraHolland is expected to take effect as of October 2010.
