Transport

Floriculture transport
Transportation of floricultural products demands specialization, and care for the living, fragile product. Floricultural business owners are choosing to outsource this important task more frequently. The collective transport area of the sector has enjoyed strong growth as a result of this trend.

Collective transport
Quick, reliable collective transport is provided in an organized service. A group of experienced floricultural transporters work together as independent business owners. Supply and delivery, to and from growers, auctions, and buyers (wholesale, exporters, garden centers etc.) occur throughout the Netherlands and abroad.

TLN
The experienced floricultural transporters are extremely important for growers and buyers at the auctions (logistical centers) in their own regions. They have optimum facilities and automated systems in place and are affiliated with Transport and Logistics Netherlands (TLN). TLN is the premier business owners’ organization for goods transport and logistical services. With 6200 members, TLN is the largest and most prominent interest group in the road transport industry. TLN provides a wide range of individualized services and protects the collective interest both domestically and internationally.

CAAC
The cooperative floriculture transporters and the logistical service provider CAAC at the flower auctions create a nationwide coverage network for floriculture transport.

Visiting and shuttle services
If you purchase at several locations, you can make use of the shuttle services that run between the six locations. In this case, it is up to you to contact the transporters yourself. For the timetable of the shuttle services between locations, click here.

Floriculture transport undergoing big changes
A new network with national coverage under the name Greenport Logistics is being developed. Cooperation between the various independent floriculture transporters is intended to further improve the service. The new organization serves to make the spreading of the activities of growers and exporters across several locations more effective. They can use the auctions as logistics ‘hubs’ to quickly transport goods from one auction to the other. It is intended that the network will eventually operate in all greenports.
