Q&A product photo guidelines: General

1. Why is it the supplier who makes the lot photos and not FloraHolland?
The buyer wants the lot information, including a representative product photo, to be available as soon as possible. If the grower is the one taking the photos, they can be sent that afternoon together with the EAB.

2. What is the use of taking photos? What is the advantage to the grower?
The percentage of buyers purchasing via KOA (Remote Buying) is strongly increasing. These buyers are no longer physically present in the auction room, but are at their own offices or anywhere else in the world. Representative lot photos ensure that the lot information provided is more reliable and the customers will buy the product more readily. This is similar to the Dutch online auction and shopping website www.marktplaats.nl. Just as in our system, the products listed there without photos go unsold, or sell poorly.

3. Is it mandatory to submit a representative lot photo?
At the moment, no. However, FloraHolland does recommend that you submit a lot photo whenever you can. You can also save multiple commercial photos in the image bank, or send them with your EAB software package. The buyer can also add these photos to his own webshop.

4. How many commercial photos can I submit per lot?
Technically, only 15 photos can be submitted per lot, depending on your software package. For more information, consult the user's manual you received from your software provider.

5. How can I place a logo on the auction clock front?
You can send your logo to bedrijfslogo@floraholland.nl. This logo will then be projected on the auction clock front. For more information, please visit the photo requirement website

6. Who can I contact with questions?
If you have any questions, please contact the FloraHolland Service Point at T +31 (0)29 739-7000, or by e-mail at servicepunt@floraholland.nl.

7. Where can I report faults?
If you would like to report any faults, please contact the FloraHolland Service Point at T +31 (0)29 739-7000, or by e-mail at servicepunt@floraholland.nl.
